The Suburban Woman’s Club of New Britain will meet at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, March 13 at the Monsignor Bojnowski Manor, 50 Pulaski St. Hostesses for the evening will be Lorraine Franko, Beverly Jones, Joan Mercier and Phyllis Visnauskas.
Although the main focus for the Suburban Woman’s Club is to support worthy charities in the community, the Federation of Woman’s Clubs also encourages its members to participate in the Arts. Members who would like to enter their arts and crafts items in the annual District Day contest are asked to bring their articles to this meeting where they will be judged by the members of the local club. Winners in each category will then go on to be presented to be judged on District Day Saturday, April 21 at the Watertown Golf Club in Watertown. There are 19 different categories listed in the Arts and Crafts contest. Categories to be judged include: needle point, crocheted and knitted items, quilting, ceramics, painting, floral arrangements, etc. Members who will be unable to attend the meeting are asked to call either co-president Maureen Carlson or Carin Mancini to be excused.
